‘Work Like An American’ Campaign Spotlights U.S. Workers

Deepwater Horizon chronicles the stories of the heroic men and women aboard the oil rig that exploded on April 20, 2010 and caused one of the biggest man-made disasters in history.

The skills and courage exhibited by those individuals are reflected in workers all around the country who build, light, and power our lives. They are our country’s unsung heroes. It’s time for us to support them. the moments of bravery of courageous oil rig workers at the beginning of what would become one of the biggest man-made disasters in history. But those men and women on the Deepwater rig aren’t anomalies. They are just like the millions of American workers who literally risk it all every day to keep our world fed, our economy afloat and our lives running. These are our country’s unsung heroes. It is time for us support them.

The “Work Like An American” campaign highlights the real people behind jobs that go unseen, jobs that, at times, are unthinkably dangerous. This series highlights an electrician, longshoremen, a fisherman, high-line power operator, steelworker, mechanic, and more.
