Andy Kim joins Participant Media as CFO

LOS ANGELES (October 3, 2016) – Participant Media has named Andy Kim its Chief Financial Officer. Participant CEO David Linde, to whom Kim will report, made the announcement. Kim will relocate from New York to Los Angeles and will begin at the company today.

Commented Linde, “Andy is a well-respected, accomplished executive with an extensive background in finance and media. His vast experience and financial expertise makes him an extraordinary addition to our executive team. We are thrilled to bring him on board during this very exciting time for the company.”

Kim will replace long-time veteran CFO Bob Murphy, who spent nine years at the company and will assist Kim transition into the role.

As Chief Financial Officer, Kim will be responsible for overseeing all of the financial activities at the company including accounting, finance, information technology, and real estate. He will play a major role in driving results for all key business areas including film, digital, and social impact. Kim will also be a key contributor to shaping and implementing strategic initiatives.

Kim joins Participant from The Weinstein Company, where he has worked since 2005, and served as CFO since 2010. He led financial operations for the film and multimedia company and identified strategic growth, capital raising and business opportunities. He was responsible for corporate and business development, financial analysis, forecasting, planning, accounting, reporting, international and M&A transactions. 

Prior to his tenure at TWC, Kim was Sr. Vice President, Finance, at Miramax Films and Assistant Vice President at Marsh (subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies).

He is a graduate of Georgetown University and holds an MBA from Stern School of Business, New York University.
