National Board of Review Names ‘Neruda’ A Top 5 Foreign Language Film

LOS ANGELES (November 29, 2016)Neruda has been named one of the Top 5 Foreign Language Films by the National Board of Review (NBR).

Neruda stars Chile’s Luis Gnecco (HBO’s “Profugos”) in the title role, Gael Garcia Bernal as police inspector Peluchonneau, charged with hunting down the dissident Nobel prize-winning poet, and Mercedes Moran (The Motorcycle Diaries) as Neruda’s wife.

Oscar-nominated director Pablo Larrain’s Neruda, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in the lauded Directors’ Fortnight section, opens on December 16.

The honors will be presented at the NBR’s annual gala on January 4 in  New York City. The complete list of award recipients is available here.
