‘Deepwater Horizon’ and ‘Middle School’ Nominated for Annie Awards

LOS ANGELES (November 28, 2016)  – Deepwater Horizon and Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life received nominations for the International Animated Film Society’s annual Annie Awards, which recognize the year’s best in the field of animation.

Deepwater Horizon is nominated for Animated Effects in a Live Action Production. The team includes The Rig; Effects TD Supervisor Raul Essig, Digital Artist Mark Chataway. Lead Digital Artist George Kuruvilla, and Digital Artist Mihai Cioroba.

Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life received a nod for Best Animated Special Production.

Directed by Peter Berg (Lone Survivor), Deepwater Horizon honors the brave men and women whose heroism would save many on board, and change everyone’s lives forever. The film stars Academy Award® nominee Mark Wahlberg, Golden Globe® nominee Kurt Russell, Academy Award® nominee John Malkovich, Golden Globe® winner Gina Rodriguez, Dylan O’Brien and Academy Award® nominee Kate Hudson.

Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life is based on James Patterson’s best-seller series. The cast includes Lauren Graham, Adam Pally, Rob Riggle and Isabela Moner. Steve Carr directed the film from a screenplay by Chris Bowman, Hubbel Palmer and Kara Holden.

Winners will be announced at the 44th Annual Annie Awards ceremony on February 4 in Los Angeles. Click here for the complete list of nominees.
