WikiLeaks Documentary ‘We Steal Secrets’ Scores Producers Guild Nomination

Alex Gibney’s “We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks” has received a documentary nomination from the Producers Guild of America.

Other nominations went to “A Place at the Table,” “Far Out Isn’t Enough: the Tomi Ungerer Story,” “Life According to Sam” and “Which Way Is the Front Line From Here? The Life and Time of Tim Hetherington.”

“We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks” tracks the organization founded by Julian Assange, and people involved in the collection and distribution of secret information and media by whistleblowers. Gibney wrote and directed the film, which debuted at Sundance and was released this summer by Focus with a $166,000 gross in the U.S.

Participant Media produced “A Place at the Table,” directed Kristi Jacobson and Lori Silverbush in an exploration of hunger in the U.S. Magnolia handled the U.S. release, which grossed $231,378.
