‘Spotlight’ Wins Best Picture at Critics Choice Awards

Spotlight picked up three honors at the 21st Critics’ Choice Awards, including Best Picture.

Producers Steve Golin and Michael Sugar of Anonymous Content, and Nicole Rocklin and Blye Faust of Rocklin/Faust accepted the Best Picture award, along with actress Rachel McAdams and screenwriter Josh Singer.

The film also won for Best Acting Ensemble, and Best Original Screenplay (Tom McCarthy and Singer).

The annual awards are presented by the Broadcast Film Critics Association and Broadcast Television Journalists Association.

Spotlight tells the true story about The Boston Globe’s coverage of the 2003 Catholic Church sex abuse scandal. The film recently received six Academy Award® nominations, including Best Picture.
