Participant Receives 8 Oscar Nominations Including Historic Best Picture Nomination for ‘Judas and the Black Messiah’
Nominations for the 93rd Academy Awards were announced earlier today. Judas and the Black Messiah was nominated for 6 Oscars including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor for both Daniel Kaluuya and LaKeith Stanfield. This is the first time in the 93-year history of Academy Awards, that an all-Black team has been nominated in the ‘Best Picture’ category.
Alexander Nanau’s Collective was nominated for both Best International Film and Best Documentary Feature, the second time in Academy history that a single film is nominated in both categories.
