Participant Media And Working Title Wrap Production On José Padilha’s Untitled Entebbe Project

London/Los Angeles (February 7, 2017)  – Participant Media and Working Title Films announced today the completion of principal photography on the Untitled Entebbe Project, starring Academy Award® nominee Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) and Golden Globe Award nominee Daniel Brühl (Captain America: Civil War). José Padilha (Narcos, Elite Squad) directs the feature from a screenplay by Gregory Burke. The film will be released through Participant’s output arrangements via Amblin Partners, with Focus Features distributing domestically in the U.S.; eOne distributes in the United Kingdom, Australia/New Zealand, Spain and the Benelux countries. Lionsgate will handle international sales for available non-output territories starting at the European Film Market (EFM) this week.

Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner produced the movie with Kate Solomon, Michelle Wright, and Ron Halpern. Participant produced and fully financed through Amblin Partners, with Jeff Skoll and Jonathan King executive-producing. Olivier Courson, Jean-Claude Darmon, Angela Morrison, Liza Chasin, and Jo Burn are also executive producers.

The Untitled Entebbe Project features an international cast, including Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes), Ben Schnetzer (Snowden), Lior Ashkenazi (Footnote), and Denis Ménochet (Inglourious Basterds). Filming took place on location in the UK and in Malta.

A gripping political thriller inspired by the true events of the 1976 hijacking of an Air France flight en route from Tel Aviv to Paris, the film depicts the most daring rescue mission ever attempted. The Untitled Entebbe Project brings the longstanding conflict between Israel and Palestine into focus by recounting the heroic military mission while also exploring the nuanced perspectives of both sides.
