‘Middle of Nowhere’ Social Action Initiative Honored in D.C.
The Campaign for Prison Phone Justice, the major initiative of Participant’s Social Action campaign for Middle of Nowhere, received the Digital Media Pioneer for Social Justice Award at the Minority Media and Telecommunication Council’s (MMTC) annual Broadband and Social Justice Summit in Washington D.C. The Center for Media Justice was recognized alongside Middle of Nowhere filmmaker Ava DuVernay for the efforts on moving the FCC Wright petition along. Participant was thanked and Ava was praised.
