Gabriel Brakin Named Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs for Participant Media
Gabriel Brakin has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs for Participant Media, it was announced today by Jeff Ivers, Participant’s Chief Operating Officer. Ivers said, “Since joining us three years ago from O’Melveny, Gabe has done an exceptional job handling our co-financing deals with Summit and other studios, our film financing fund with Image Nation and all of our TakePart activities. His promotion is well-deserved.” Brakin joined Participant as Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs in October 2008, where he has been responsible for the development, production, financing and licensing transactions for Participant’s films, as well as its digital and new media transactions, such as the recent TakePart TV deal with YouTube, its social action partnerships and other strategic joint venture and alliance opportunities. Prior to joining Participant, Gabe was an entertainment and media attorney at O’Melveny & Myers, where his practice focused on representing motion picture studios, independent production companies and financial institutions across a wide variety of entertainment industry transactions involving the development, licensing, sale, acquisition and management of intellectual property assets. Prior to joining O’Melveny, Gabe served as a law clerk for the Honorable A. Wallace Tashima, on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in Pasadena, CA.
