Nantucket Film Festival: ‘The Big Sick,’ Al Gore’s ‘Inconvenient Sequel’ Set for Opening, Closing Night Screenings

A number of high-profile Sundance and Tribeca films will get screenings at the Nantucket Film Festival, which announced its opening and closing night and centerpiece films as well as its full feature program.
Lionsgate/Amazon Studios’ Sundance sensation The Big Sick will be the opening night film. The rom-com was directed by Michael Showalter and written by Emily V. Gordon and Kumail Nanjiani, based on Gordon and Nanjiani’s real-life relationship.
Al Gore’s Inconvenient Truth sequel, An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power, directed by Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk, will serve as the closing night film. An Inconvenient Sequel, which also premiered at Sundance, will hit theaters on July 28. Read more.
