‘Zero Days’ Set as Opening Film at AFI Docs 2016
Zero Days will open AFI Docs 2016, the American Film Institute’s annual documentary festival held in Washington, D.C.
A discussion with director Alex Gibney will follow the June 22 screening, which marks the film’s North American premiere. The film made its world premiere at the 2016 Berlin Film Festival.
Zero Days tells the story of Stuxnet, self-replicating computer malware that the U.S. and Israel unleashed to destroy a key part of an Iranian nuclear facility, and which ultimately spread beyond its intended target.
The cyber-warfare doc is produced by Gibney’s Jigsaw Productions and Global Produce’s Marc Shmuger, and Sarah Dowland.
