Deepwater Horizon tells the story of the infamous oil rig explosion that killed 11 people back in 2010. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell, Kate Hudson, Gina Rodriguez and John Malkovich, and takes us through the events that lead up to the disaster that caused the largest oil spill in the industry’s history. The Lionsgate film, directed by Peter Berg (Lone Survivor), uses largely practical effects and reportedly had one of the largest sets in filmmaking history.
