‘Deepwater Horizon’ Nominated For Two Academy Awards®
LOS ANGELES (January 24, 2017) – Deepwater Horizon received two Academy Award® nominations this morning, for visual effects and sound editing.
Wylie Stateman and Renée Tondelli are nominated for Achievement in Visual Effects.
Craig Hammack, Jason Snell, Jason Billington and Burt Dalton received nominations for Achievement in Sound Editing.
Inspired by the thrilling story of real-life heroes on a burning oil rig, the film is directed by Peter Berg from a screenplay by Matthew Michael Carnahan and Matthew Sand, and from a screen story by Matthew Sand.
Deepwater Horizon stars Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell, John Malkovich, Gina Rodriguez, Dylan O’Brien and Kate Hudson.
