Jim Hu serves as Executive Vice President, Co-Head of Campaigns & Engagement for Participant, the leading media company dedicated to entertainment at the intersection of art and activism.
In his role, Hu co-leads the team responsible for developing campaigns to bolster the reach and social impact of Participant’s content. His areas of oversight include strategic planning, operations, data analysis and digital marketing. These areas are critical components of campaigns, including those for Academy Award® nominated documentaries All the Beauty and the Bloodshed and FLEE, Academy Award winning Judas and the Black Messiah, as well as recent documentaries Descendant and My Name is Pauli Murray.
Several of these campaigns have been recognized for their excellence with Shorty Awards, Anthem Awards, INC Best in Business, and as a Fast Company World Changing Ideas honoree.
Hu joined Participant in 2018 as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development and most recently served as EVP of Audience. He is a digital media veteran who has led strategy, operations and monetization teams across global digital brands including Instagram, Yahoo!, CNET and the Los Angeles Times. Hu holds a BS from Tufts University and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
